Everyone knows Calangute, Baga, and Anjuna. But Goa has over 100 km of coastline, and most of the best beaches have no beach shacks, no touts, and barely a soul in sight. Here are our 7 favourite hidden beaches that our clients absolutely love.
1. Butterfly Beach (South Goa)
Only accessible by boat or a 45-minute trek through the forest, Butterfly Beach is a pristine, butterfly-shaped cove surrounded by dense forest. Completely untouched. Dolphins visible in early morning. One of Goa's best-kept secrets.
2. Cola Beach (South Goa)
A freshwater lagoon separated from the Arabian Sea by a narrow strip of white sand. Surreal, beautiful, and still relatively quiet. A few luxury camps have set up here, making it perfect for an overnight stay.
3. Kakolem (Tiger Beach)
Access via a steep 100-step descent through forest. Completely secluded, stunning black rock formations, powerful waves. Not for swimming, but breathtaking for photography.
4. Agonda Beach
Not truly hidden, but wonderfully calm compared to North Goa. Olive Ridley turtles nest here. Yoga retreats and Ayurvedic centres along the beach. The hippie-chic alternative to the overcrowded north.
5. Morjim Beach (North Goa)
Also a turtle nesting site. Long, windswept, and significantly less crowded than Calangute. Russian expat community has set up lovely beachside cafes. Great for sunset walks.
